It's hot - but I'm not complaining

We decided to visit our friends in Mississauga and do our first road trip with our new car. Everything was perfect: friends, barbecues, weather...
Next time I'll post some photos from our little trip.

My new addiction

I was never a fan of video games, the truth is I stopped playing when I was 12 I guess. As a  consequence I just missed the technological updates in terms of this kind of entertainment. Until last weekend I was at a birthday party(just a few friends) and they were playing GuitarHero. They were having a lot of fun and I decided to try. Well, I must say that my guitar' skill is not my strongest one, every time I was  playing the music stopped in the middle hehehe so my friends suggested me to sing instead of playing the guitar. Hummmm, I kinda like it!! Uau, I really like it! The funny part was that I was good singing, I was singing in the difficult level and still got high scores . Gladly, I'm not the kind of person that doesn't let other people play - not that I didn't want to continue one song after the other. We had so much fun, and now I'm addicted to singing, in the bathroom, at work (when I believe no one is listening) and I'm really considering buying this game. Let's sing, ops, I mean: see!

Canada Day

It's almost Canada Day (July 1st), this year we - oui, je suis mariĆ©e - decided to travel and enjoy the holiday with friends in Toronto. This year the Prince and the Pricess of England are coming to Ottawa and, honestly, I don't really care. I don't understand why everyone here is so into this royalty thing, I really don't get it, but I will certainly enjoy the holiday and the Canada Day celebration. Last year, we went to Parliament Hill to watch the fireworks and the shows. It was a beautiful party, but this year I'll celebrate differently eating a real brazilian barbecue (yummy, wait for the photos). Photos of the Parliament Hill:

The tulips festival in Ottawa

This is my second year living in Ottawa, but it the 59th edition of the Canadian Tulip Festival (that's the official name) and this year I had the opportunity of taking some pictures of those beautiful flowers:

A little bit of the history of the festival - find out more here:
In the fall of 1945, Princess Juliana of the Netherlands presented Ottawa with 100,000 tulip bulbs. The gift was given in appreciation of the safe haven that members of Holland’s exiled royal family received during the World War II in Ottawa and in recognition of the role which Canadian troops played in the liberation of the Netherlands.
The tulips have become an important symbol of international friendship and spring, with special meaning to the people of Canada and its Capital Region.
In early June 1940, Princess Juliana and her two small daughters secretly boarded a Dutch vessel bound for Halifax. After a long sea voyage, they moved into Ottawa’s Government House. Safe in the Ottawa region, Princess Juliana was able to take over the reins of government-in-exile if the need arose.
The birth of Princess Margriet Francisca, the third daughter of Princess Juliana and Prince Bernhard, was a symbol of hope and a source of inspiration for the Dutch who were fighting for their survival in Europe. The only royal baby ever born in North America, her birth created a living bond between the people of Canada and the Netherlands. To ensure the baby’s Dutch citizenship, the Canadian government temporarily ceded a room at the Ottawa Civic Hospital to the Netherlands.

My first post

Hi there! This is my first post on my "private" garden, I was thinking so hard in how should I start this blog, I though of so many topics of interest that I could spend the entire night writing here. So, just for today I'll just say: Hi, welcome!! See you soon with a real post, but here comes the first photo en hommage to my digital garden:
